Private Dentist providing cosmetic dentistry to customers in Ipswich, Colchester and Hadleigh
Welcome to The Looking-Glass Dental Practice. I’m Lawrence Werber, and together with my Practice Manager Nancy Hammond and Dental Surgery Assistant Amy Burgin, I'd like to welcome you warmly. We look forward to seeing you. Here is some important information to start with.
The practice is wholly private - we do not offer work under the NHS. We do offer the Denplan Essentials scheme, under which you receive regular preventive maintenance for a monthly payment, together with discounted fees for restorative and reparative work. We also offer a full range of cosmetic dentistry services including tooth whitening and smile design.
Dr Werber is a private dentist who studied at Newcastle University, qualifying as a Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (LDS RCSEng) in 1967, and Bachelor of Dental Surgery, University of Newcastle (BDS UNcle) in 1968. Although I do have many years of experience working as a private dentist I still regularly attend courses to update my knowledge and skills.
The Looking-Glass Dental Practice's cosmetic dentistry is based on a number of core beliefs. The most important of these is that our patients should feel comfortable about coming to see us, not anxious or fearful.
The General Dental Council (GDC) is the body that regulates the profession and protects the public: my private dentist GDC number is 41993. You can contact the GDC at www.gdc-uk.org. Importantly, in the case of a complaint that cannot be resolved through our own Complaints Procedure (details below), you may contact The Dental Complaints Service at www.dentalcomplaints.org.uk.
The British Dental Association (BDA) is the profession's own regulatory and advisory organisation. We are members, and the practice is enrolled in the BDA's Good Practice Scheme: this sets standards of quality which are recognised as definitive. You may contact the BDA at www.bda.org.
Why The Looking-Glass in Hadleigh? When we discuss your dental care I'll ask you to hold a hand mirror so that we can look at your teeth together. We'll talk about what you want to achieve, and come up with a cosmetic dentistry solution or treatment plan that suits you. I believe the mirror is one of the most important pieces of equipment in the surgery because it helps you take charge of your treatment, with insight and understanding. We'll use digital photography, X-rays and other visual aids as well, but the immediate feedback from the mirror is essential to the way we work here at The Looking-Glass.
When we were looking for a name for the practice that reflected our approach - and a touch of lightness - Lewis Carrol's wonderful work and John Tenniel's delightful illustrations seemed perfect.
